Amber Dolphin - Violinist & Manager

Amber Dolphin is a freelance musician and private teacher in the Madison area. Amber loves all styles of music especially classical, jazz, fiddle and Latin. Currently she performs with Charanga Agozá (Cuban dance music) in addition to the Pecatonica String Quartet. Before taking on a heavy teaching load Amber used to perform with the Madison Symphony, Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, Green Bay, Dubuque and LaCrosse Symphonies as well as two Argentine tango groups (Quinteto Yzafa and Istmo Tango Trio). Amber is an adjunct instructor at Beloit College where she directs the Creative Strings Collective (string orchestra) and teaches a pedagogy course. She co-founded Music con Brio, an after school program for grade school students, in 2011. She has also taught as adjunct faculty at University of Wisconsin – Platteville and Viterbo University. She received a Performer’s Certificate in Classical and Jazz from Northern Illinois University in 2010, a Masters of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2006 and Bachelor of Arts degree from Luther College in 2004. Amber loves performing at weddings because they are such a joyous celebration of love and commitment. Amber lives in Madison with her husband, Steve, and baby girl Maya.

Carol Carlson - Violinist

Carol Carlson is an avid performer, a devoted teacher, and a creative arts entrepreneur.  She has performed solo recitals and chamber music across the United States and in Europe.  Carol performs with the Pecatonica String Quartet and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra, and collaborated on two CD releases in 2010 with Christian/pop artists Justin Hill and Diana Upton-Hill.  As a member of Duo Mendota, Carol completed a four state recital tour during the summer of 2010.  Carol recently received her first composition commission, writing and performing music for a new ballet piece in collaboration with choreographer Marlene Skog for the UW-Madison Fall 2010 Faculty Dance Concert.  Carol holds music degrees from Truman State University, Park University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to her private teaching and performing, Carol teaches Humanities courses at the Madison campus of the University of Phoenix.  She lives in Madison with her husband, who is also a musician.  

Christopher Dozoryst - Violist

Chris Dozoryst holds the position of Principal Viola with the Madison Symphony Orchestra; he is also a member of the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, the Oakwood Chamber Players, and serves with the Madison Symphony’s Heartstrings Quartet program as violist of the Rhapsodie String Quartet. Chris earned his BA in Music Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1997 and his MMU in Viola Performance from Carnegie-Mellon University in 2000. He currently lives in Fort Atkinson with his wife Shannon, daughter Lily and son Trevor.

Maggie Darby Townsend - Cellist

Maggie Darby Townsend received her Bachelor Degree in Music from the University of Iowa in 2002 as a student of Charles Wendt. In 2004, she finished her Masters of Music studying with Uri Vardi at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Over the years, she has attended music festivals such as Madeline Island Chamber Music, Aspen Music Festival, and Musicorda, and in 2001 performed the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No. 1 with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra. Maggie and her husband Brad love living and working in the Madison area; she works for the the Institute for Research on Poverty at the UW-Madison, and has played in the Madison Symphony Orchestra since 2002. In addition to teaching private music lessons, Maggie enjoys performing with local chamber music groups, such as Con Vivo, Oakwood Chamber Players, and the Pecatonica String Quartet.
